Jacquie Phipps is the Academic Registrar and the former Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design in Auckland, New Zealand. She teaches art theory, academic writing and research methods and has a special interest in creative research methodologies and writing practices.
Deborah J. Johnson, Ph.D. is Professor of Art History - Modern and Contemporary Art and Professor of Women's Studies at Providence College, Rhode Island, USA in the Departments of Art & Art History and of Women's Studies. Her current interests and research include Modern and contemporary art; gender studies; Black studies; and art and spirituality in the 20th Century.
Professor Leoni Schmidt is the Head of the Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand. Her research focuses on drawing methodologies and her teaching and postgraduate supervision align contemporary studio practices with theoretical discourses and art historical frameworks.
Gary Carter trained and worked as an actor in South Africa. A pacifist, he was deported in 1985. A choreographer, theatre director and writer, he lives in Amsterdam with his family, where he works as a television executive.
